JoAnn Boatwright is a Pacific Northwest photographer who focuses on the region’s beauty as well as the details of domestic life: Bread fresh from the oven, a stack of well-read books, a newly knit sock, tea steaming from a favorite mug, eggs straight from the hen house, a wheelbarrow brimming with this year’s crop of winter squash, raindrops on a fallen leaf, and found still life scenes that likely will include fading flowers, rusty bits of forgotten tools or well-worn needlework from days gone by.
Her photography has been featured at Valley Art Association’s gallery in Forest Grove, Oregon, and juried into the prestigious LOCAL 14 Show & Sale in Portland. She has been a featured artist at historic downtown Hillsboro’s summertime Tuesday Marketplace and her work has been published in several newspapers and magazines.
